Spirit of Detroit picture photo The Fourth Tenor

THE FOURTH TENOR Spirit of Detroit statue picture photo - Spirit of Detroit statue art picture photograph print: In celebration and in honor of 'The Three Tenors' , Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti, coming to perform in Detroit for their first Midwest appearance on July 17, 1999 at Tiger Stadium, local business 'President Tuxedo' dressed the landmark ' Spirit of Detroit ' statue, which sits in front of the downtown Detroit City-County Building, in, appropriately, a black tuxedo - The Spirit of Detroit became "The Fourth Tenor". This downtown Detroit Spirit of Detroit picture photograph is a rare picture of that Fourth Tenor, as The City of Detroit quickly removed the tuxedo from The Marshall Fredericks Spirit of Detroit statue sculpture. The performance of The Three Tenors was sponsored by the Detroit Michigan Opera Theatre and the Ford Motor Company and was in part a celebration of Detroit's upcoming tricentennial. In 2001 Detroit Michigan celebrated its 300th birthday. Happy Birthday Detroit!
