HALEAKALA VOLCANO - MAUI HAWAII Art Gallery Maui Picture Photo - Maui Hawaii photograph picture photo art print: This Haleakala Volcano crater picture is a wonderful aerial photograph of West Maui in the Hawaiian Islands. This Maui photo, taken by noted professional photographer Jan Kaulins, shows the terrain inside the crater of Haleakala Volcano, with its moonscape like appearance. This dramatic Haleakala Volcano photograph shows the burnt-red cinder cones as well as the hardened ebony-black lava flows that have formed inside the crater floor of the Volcano. In this Maui picture photo we see that surrounding the Maui Hawaii Haleakala crater valley is the volcanic rim that rises above the Pacific Ocean to a height of 10,023 feet at the summit. Incredibly, Haleakala's base it about 18,000 feet below sea level! Maui's Haleakala is an excellent example of a dormant shield volcano and a 'must see' for visitors to Maui.
