DETROIT PISTONS 2005 NBA FINALS

The Palace of Auburn Hills Detroit Pistons 2005 NBA Finals photo - Detroit Pistons picture photo - This picture of the giant teletron screen, during Game 5 of the NBA Finals of The Detroit Pistons vs. The San Antonio Spurs, at The Palace of Auburn Hills was made from an original black and white photograph that was hand colored by nationally recognized artist and photographer Jan Kaulins. This photo is often used as part of a set along with the other Detroit Pistons 2005 NBA Finals action game photos on this website (Click on the 'Back to Detroit Pistons...Photo Gallery link at top of this page to see the other photos available). The image on the screen shows the 2004 NBA Championship Trophy that the Pistons were defending at home at The Palace during this Game 5 of the NBA 2005 series.
The Palace of Auburn Hills was built in 1988 and is the current home of The 2004 NBA Champion Detroit Pistons and 2005 Eastern Conference Champions and NBA Finalists, The Detroit Vipers and The Detroit Shock. This arena seats 21,454 fans. The Detroit Pistons moved to Detroit in 1957 from Ft. Wayne, Indiana where their first games were at legendary Olympia Stadium. The Detroit Pistons had done stints at Cobo Hall in Detroit and at the Pontiac Silverdome for ten seasons before moving to The Palace. This hand colored photo captures the grandeur of this large sports arena located in Auburn Hills, just north of Detroit, Michigan. The Detroit Pistons recently won The 2004 NBA Finals Championship here at The Palace of Auburn Hills in game 5 by totally overwhelming and outplaying The Los Angeles Lakers. The following year in 2005 The Detroit Pistons went all the way to Game 7 in the NBA Finals where they lost to The San Antonio Spurs.
