THE BIG ISLAND HAWAII IMIOLA CHURCH picture photo art - BIG ISLAND HAWAII photo picture art gallery photograph - This colorful Big Island Hawaii photo is of The Imiola Congregational Church, established in Waimea Big Island Hawaii, in 1837, just seventeen years after Christian Missionaries first landed on The Big Island of Hawaii, after a long harrowing six month ocean voyage aboard The Ship Thaddeus--arriving on The Big Island near Kona in 1820. As Christianity spread among the Island, simple, yet beautiful churches like these, were built by the converts and the missionaries themselves. This beautiful church is surrounded by colorful tropical flora and fauna. The blue Hawaiian sky is overhead and to the left of The Imiola Church can be seen a bit of the Kohala Mountain Range on this Northern tip of The Big Island of Hawaii.
