Big Island Hawaii aerial photo - Kilauea Caldera
by Jan Kaulins
BIG ISLAND HAWAII AERIAL KILAEUA CALDERA photo picture art photograph - Big Island Hawaii aerial photo art picture photograph - This spectacular Big Island Hawaii aerial photo is of Hawaii's Volcanos National Park. In this aerial photo of Volcanos National Park we can see Kilaeua Caldera and the Halema'uma'u Crater in the center of it. These are huge craters that were filled with active flowing rivers of hot lava from Kileaua Volcano, which lies on the edge of the giant Mauna Loa Volcano. These two Big Island Hawaii Volcanos are two of the world's most active Volcanos! Also seen in this spectacular aerial Big Island Hawaii photo is Crater Rim Drive, one of the most unique roads in the world as it actually goes right through hardened lava flows left by Kilaeua. This aerial photo of Kilauea Caldera shows one of the more unique topographies seen anywhere. Picture this entire area covered with spewing red hot lava for miles and miles, working its way down from the top of this Volcano to the Pacific Ocean 3,700 feet below and you get some idea of how Hawaii was formed, and is still being formed!
