MEL'S DRIVE-IN photo art print photo Drive-In
by Jan Kaulins
MEL'S DRIVE-IN photo art picture print for sale - This artist signed and numbered Limited Edition original copyrighted color Mel's Drive-In picture photo art print was made from AN ORIGINAL BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPH THAT WAS PHOTOGRAPHED BY AND HAND-COLORED BY NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED AWARD WINNING ARITIST/PHOTOGRAPHER JAN KAULINS.
Mel's Drive-In (not to be confused with Mel's Diner) is the name of a restaurant chain founded in 1947 by Mel Weiss and Harold Dobbs in San Francisco, California. In 1972, the restaurant was selected as a feature location by George Lucas for his 1973 film American Graffiti. The prominent play given to the location has been credited with saving the company from possibly going out of business. This photo is of the Mel's Drive-In located at Universal Studios. As you can see it has a couple of classic hot rods parked out in front of this classic architectural structure. This 1950's style diner offers burgers, fries, shakes, and other popular diner entrees. While you eat, you'll be entertained by a disc jockey who plays popular 1950's and 1960's music. We have no affiliation with Mel's and are offering these artist signed and numbered Limited Edtion hand-colored photos as part of our American Diners and Drive-In Americana icon original photo art series.

| The quality of the Jan Kaulins' photographic prints is much higher than we can show within limits of this web site. Slight tonal changes and blurring around the areas of strong contrast are a result of the JPEG compression process, and are not part of the high quality originals. |
