Jax Brewery, located at 600 Decatur Street in the historic New Orleans French Quarter, is a unique New Orleans landmark, having been once the brewing and bottling house of Jax Beer. Jackson Brewery, commonly known as Jax Brewery by locals, is a building in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana containing shops and restaurants. Constructed in 1891, it originally was the central brewery for Jax Beer, and in the 1960s was the 10th-largest brewery in the country. But in the 1970s, the company owning the brewery went bankrupt, and in the 1980s the building was purchased and turned into space for shops and restaurants. Today the converted Jax Brewery holds exclusive and distinctive New Orleans shops as well as nationally known stores. A museum devoted to the Jax brewery and Jax beer is free and open to the public. Stroll through the shops of Jax Brewery, grab a bite to eat or admire the view of the Mississippi River from the Museum or the building’s beautiful patio. This Jax Brewery photo art print for sale is an excellent excellent iconim image of both classic New Orleans architecture and the legendary New Orleans streetcars--some of the longest running streetcars in the nation.
