The Eastern side of The Big Island of Hawaii, or the windward side, is primarily composed of many square miles of Rain Forest where it rains more often than not--a perfect location for the Bamboo to grow lush and thick. You can see a small mountain stream flowing through this Big Island Hawaii Bamboo Forest photo. The beautiful golden Bamboo, which is one of the fastest growing and most versitile plants on this planet, grows amidst the thick foilage of The Rain Forest, seen here just several miles North of Hilo, Hawaii.
