New Orleans art photo art picture print - MASKS
by Jan Kaulins
MASKS - NEW ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER photo picture Art Gallery - New Orleans Art Gallery photograph fine art print: This New Orleans Bourbon Street French Quarter photo is a picture of a wall of porcelain masks in a small French Quarter shop. This New Orleans photo was made from an original hand colored black and white photograph by nationally recognized artist and photographer Jan Kaulins. Masks can attempt to hide the true nature or the identity of the wearer. Sometimes a person wearing a mask may take on a totally different character and feel more uninhibited than they would in ordinary life. Sometimes they can't take the mask off. Mardi Gras in New Orleans is a world famous celebration in which most of the participants wear masks.
This wall of masks photograph was taken in a small alley shop in the historic and mystic New Orleans French Quarter. Unlike smiley clown masks, these masks have a quiet pensive reflective quality. Who is behind the mask?

| The quality of the Jan Kaulins' photographic prints is much higher than we can show within limits of this web site. Slight tonal changes and blurring around the areas of strong contrast are a result of the JPEG compression process, and are not part of the high quality originals. |
