of 'The Dominator' Hasek, star goalie for the 2002 Stanley Cup Champions The Detroit Red Wings. Hasek had some of hockey's highest honors and trophies in his illustrious career, including Most Valuable NHL player in '97 & '98, six time All Star, winner of Vezina Tropy as top goaltender six times, and other awards, but didn't want to retire until his dream of winning The Stanley Cup came true. In this historic photograph he is shown waving at his fans. In the photo, behind Hasek can be seen the large marquee of The Detroit Fox Theatre celebrating the 2002 Stanley Cup Champions. This historic photograph of The Detroit Red Wings 2002 Championship Victory Parade was to be Dominik Hasek's final trip down Woodward Ave. in Detroit. Shortly after the parade he announced his retirement--his Stanley Cup dream was fulfilled with The Detroit Red Wings. But wait! He's back, playing for The Red Wings for one more season. Go Wings!
