DETROIT PUBLIC LIBRARY photo picture art print
Photo #384 (Use this photo number when ordering)
by Jan Kaulins
DETROIT PUBLIC LIBRARY photo picture art print for sale: This color Detroit Public Library picture photo was made from an original black and white photograph that was hand-colored by artist/photographer Jan Kaulins. In this beautiful photo we see the front side of the Library facing East. It is springtime with the Cherry blossoms blooming on the shrubs and the buds forming on the trees that frame the building in this Detroit Library photograph. The Main Branch of The Detroit Public Library is a large impressive white marble structure which was designed by Cass Gilbert and built in 1921. Cass Gilbert had already achieved fame with his Woolworth Building in New York City and would later design The Scott Fountain on Belle Isle. The Detroit Public Library is located across from The Detroit Institute of Arts in the rich Cultural Center area of Detroit. It is an excellent example of beautiful Italian Renaissance architecture, inside and out.

The quality of the Jan Kaulins' photographic prints is much higher than we can show within limits of this web site. Slight tonal changes and blurring around the areas of strong contrast are a result of the JPEG compression process, and are not part of the high quality originals. |
